Every North Wing room is unique and features superb hand-painted fabrics and African ceramic torso artifacts using the colours of the Zimbabwe flag. They are indeed Modern Masterpieces! The piece de resistance is the incredible Presidential Suite.

South Wing Rooms feature new beds and flat-screen televisions. They are more traditional and were not part of the major 2013 refurbishment. They have an “Out of Africa” ambiance complemented by rich mahogany furnishings.

Inter-connecting rooms are available in the South Wing to create family suites. There are 12 floors of non-smoking rooms as well as rooms for guests with disabilities.

The Pool Deck

The alluring Meikles Pool Deck is located on the 14th floor of the South Wing and is reserved exclusively for hotel guests. The pool is a favourite spot for our guests to relax and enjoy one of the pool bar’s signature cocktails.

Wi-Fi Service

Zimbabwe’s fastest fibre-optic wi-fi is complimentary to all our guests who stay in North Wing Club Rooms and in all Suites. For all other room types guests should contact the Guest Services desk in the lobby for activation of this facility and the charges.

Walk into the imposing Meikles Hotel front door and our excellent Business Centre is just 10 metres away nestled conveniently in a ground-floor corner and very close to both the lobby area and tea lounge.

No need to scurry if you are early or late as the Meikles Business Centre is open 24 hours a day 365 days of the year. Two state-of-the-art PC’s await as well as a fast broadband internet connection for your business emails and other internet requirements. Our famous Tanganda Tea Lounge is just across the passage. Easy to hail a waiter and perhaps enjoy tea/coffee or some of the delicacies on offer. Our sumptuous high tea is iconic. The Meikles Shop is also right next door.

Business Centre personnel also provide assistance with laptop, mobile phone and conference equipment rentals.

Elegant and traditional High Tea is a hallmark of the Meikles tradition. The Tanganda Tea Lounge, aptly named after Zimbabwe’s foremost tea estate, is located on the ground floor adjoining the lobby. This convivial and cosy spot  inspired the saying so familiar to locals – “Meet you at Meikles.” Here you may enjoy light meals, fresh pastries, bagels, scones, beverages and a selection of specialty teas and coffees. As part of the 2013 restyling this lounge has new carpeting and furniture.

La Fontaine Grill Room – an icon restyled in 2013

The iconic flagship restaurant and adjoining Can-Can cocktail bar of Meikles, on the first floor, has been operational since 1958. In 2013 it was extensively refurbished and its kitchen transformed into one of the most modern in Africa. For lunch, dinner and table d’hôte it features an upmarket grill-house menu with the emphasis on wholesome food and quick service.  Our signature restaurant overlooks the gardens and trees of Africa Unity Square.

The Explorer’s Club

Can-Can Cocktail Bar

Adjoining La Fontaine Restaurant on the first floor the classy Can-Can is a secluded bar/lounge with delightful ambiance to enjoy a cocktail before dining. It is accessible to hotel residents and La Fontaine diners only. The can-Can features a superb array of specialty whiskies, such as 20-year-old Benriach and 18-year-old Jameson Special Reserve.
